Volunteer

The majority of Camp Abe Lincoln’s success has been built upon the shoulders of phenomenal volunteers.  Our lake, sidewalks, trails, chapel, and many more projects were completed by volunteers who believe in the spirit of camp.  If camp had an impact on your life and you want to give back some of your time to help pay it forward, please contact the Y to discuss volunteer opportunities available.  We do ask that all volunteers undergo our background check to ensure the safety of our campers.
Some volunteer positions that we’re always looking for:
  • Camp Nurse (RN)
    • The camp nurse comes in on a daily basis and looks through small incident reports to make sure correct First Aid was given.  The camp nurse would also help assist at check-in on Sundays from 1:30pm-3:30pm.  We currently have two camp nurses who split weekends but could always use additional help.
  • Landscaping
    • The 252 acres that Camp Abe Lincoln rests on are beautiful but could always use additional support to maintain flower beds, weed around buildings, upkeep in the camp garden, and generally maintaining the overall appearance of camp.  If you have a green thumb and would like to leave your mark on camp, please let us know.
  • Forestry
    • The majority of our property is covered by trees.  While our trees give us great shade, the also need trimming and removal from time to time.  If you are trained/certified in tree trimming or removal and would be wiling to help keep our campers as safe as possible, we could use your help.
